BETHINK 1-4

Enamel on copper, copper wire and fresh water pearl, 3x3 inch on 4x4x1.5 inch wood panel.

Available at the C word shop in Portland, Maine.

Counter-enamel (a mix of all colors) is typically used as the back side of my enamel paintings. Here I have recycled old works, re-firing the “backs” with potassium nitrate which forces air bubbles to form in the enamel. The surface is hand sanded to break open the bubbles into multiple sized craters and smooth over any sharp areas. The finished surface is highly textured with some copper showing. Each is studded with copper wire posts and a fresh water pearl.
